Key Product Updates from Q2’25

1. Target inventory by VIN/Stock number
Did you know you can now choose specific vehicles—new or used—to promote in Highlight sponsored spots or in ads on popular websites with CarGurus RPM® (Real-Time Performance Marketing) campaigns?
Easily select vehicles in your Dashboard to increase visibility and drive faster sales. See example below:

Coming soon: email alerts when one of your selected vehicles sells, plus easier vehicle selection with new copy/paste and drag-and-drop features.
2. Get an Instant Market Value (IMV) faster in the Dealer Mobile App
We’ve made it faster and easier to get an Instant Market Value before a vehicle is listed on CarGurus with the IMV Tool in the CG Dealer mobile app. Based on dealer feedback, these enhancements are designed to save you time and streamline your workflow.

Here’s what’s new:
- Scan a VIN barcode, along with the existing options to take a picture or type in VIN
- Enhanced camera features: pinch to zoom, tap to focus, and more
- Automatic mileage detection
- Fewer steps to get IMV results

3. Sell My Car: Dashboard insight updates
The All Offers page in the Sell My Car Leads tab now gives you more insights into the bids you’ve placed and how they performed. Using these insights, you can better understand which vehicles they are winning and losing, and how you can adjust your bidding strategy to win more.

4. Select new cars in used car searches
We are currently piloting a new experience in select markets that showcases a single Franchise dealer’s new vehicle inventory of one make within relevant used car searches.
Beta dealers across 11 markets saw, on average, a 34% increase in VDP views for their new vehicles compared to what they would have received otherwise. (Based on CarGurus analysis of New Car Advantage listings on average during Beta period - 30 stores in 11 markets with specific makes in each market from 4/28/2025 - 6/10/2025).

5. Coming soon: ‘Best Match’ default sort order on New Car SRP
Starting in Q3, we’ll adjust the default sort order on the New Car SRP to ‘Best Match’ after positive conversion results from testing from February to May 2025.
This update aligns the new and used car shopping experience, improves relevance for shoppers, and supports stronger lead and conversion performance. While the algorithm uses MSRP instead of Deal Rating, it considers the same factors as used listings—like price, photos, listing age, dealer rating, and more.
