1. New product: PriceVantage

PriceVantage is our newest pricing solution designed to help you move inventory faster while holding margin. Here are what dealers love about it so far: 

  • VIN-specific price change recommendations tailored to your turn time goals, market days supply, and consumer demand
  • Comparable Listings: See how your competitors’ similar inventory is priced, backed by the largest consumer demand data set1
  • IMV Lookup: Understand the value of a vehicle before it’s listed on CarGurus 
  • IMS Syndication*: Automatically update prices in your IMS (DealerSync, Dealer Center or DealerSpecialities) and choose VINs to hold Deal rating on as market values changes
  • Browser Extension: View price recommendations and VIN values in your IMS or any webpage

2. New vehicle type filters in the Dashboard 

Based on dealer feedback to more easily analyze different types of inventory, you can now filter your Leads, VDP Activity, and Removed Listings in your Dashboard by vehicle type - New, Used, or Certified Pre-Owned. 

Additionally, the downloadable CSVs on these pages include a “Type” column to match your selected filters.

3. Custom data reports for dealership groups

 Group-level reports are now available for the Next Best Deal Rating, Max Margin, and Merchandising Health reports. To receive reports with files with insights from all stores, go to ‘Scheduled reports’ on the group-level Dashboard page, choose an email delivery frequency, recipient email addresses, and other settings. If you need help setting them up, please contact your Account Manager. 

4. New Additional Highlight strategies: Fair and Good Deal

Dealers with Highlight can now select “Fair Deal only” and “Good Deal only” strategies for used inventory in your Highlight Dashboard settings – in addition to Great Deals only. If you'd like help customizing your Highlight strategies, please contact your Account Manager.

5. RPM Ad Creative Refresh

RPM offsite display ad re-designs drove a 9.6% lift in click-through rate, meaning more shoppers clicked on the ads, driving traffic to your website.

6. New Prices Required for Franchise Toyota Dealers 

Toyota now requires their vehicles to list a TSRP (Total Suggested Retail Price) instead of an MSRP. This TSRP includes all Toyota specific fees in the price. Only TSRP is visible, not both TSRP and MSRP. Moving forward, please make sure your inventory feed includes the TSRP value in the MSRP field of your inventory feeds, not the MSRP.

7. Dealership Mode in the CarGurus app

Get ready for more informed, focused buyers on your lot. This December, we're launching Dealership Mode, a new set of features in the CarGurus consumer app designed to improve the on-lot shopping experience.

Why are we doing this?

We know shoppers are already using our app at your dealership. Dealership Mode helps high-intent buyers become more informed and ready to make a purchase. 

What’s in it for you?

This feature is designed to help you close the sale. When a shopper is on your lot, Dealership Mode activates, and: 

  • The focus stays on your inventory, not on listings from competing dealers. Consumers can easily compare multiple options on your lot to ensure they choose the right car for them. 
  • Your salespeople can spend more time closing sales with shoppers that are more informed on inventory options.
  • Your salespeople spend less time walking through financing with shoppers that are clear on payment calculations.

We're excited to connect our highly engaged app users with your inventory in a more powerful way, right when they are on your lot and ready to close.This is just the beginning - we plan to test, learn, and iterate on this feature over time to add even more tools that help you succeed. 

8. Coming Soon: New Instant Market Value model

We’ve heard your feedback about wanting more vehicle features included in IMV – and are excited to bring you an updated IMV model. The new model delivers more accurate valuations, broader vehicle coverage, and improved flexibility for future vehicle features. Specifically, there are now 70+ attributes considered instead of 10-15 and fewer No Price Analysis (NPA) vehicles.

The new model updates 2x/week instead of daily. If you subscribe to daily Next Best Deal Rating or Max Margin reports, we recommend changing the frequency of the reports to weekly once IMV 2.0 is launched.
